Little League season, fundraising under way

04032014 oak view little leagueThe Ojai Valley Little League recently held its opening day celebration. League officials announced that they have more than 300 players registered this season to play baseball at one of Ventura County’s top Little League facilities. Highlights from this year’s celebration included a visit from Smokey the Bear, who threw out the first pitch, and the national anthem, which was performed by Tina Mahler. OVLL will also be teaming up with the Ojai Valley Girls’ Softball League to host their annual golf fundraiser. The 2014 event will be held tomorrow at the Soule Park Golf Course. Golfers will have a chance to win a 2014 Chevy Malibu with a hole-in-one. Other prizes include airline tickets, a big screen television and much more. For the $125 entry fee, golfers get green fees, cart fee, range balls, 2014 T-shirt, tee package, lunch, awards, prizes, drawings and dinner at the inaugural extravaganza which includes a silent auction and live music.
