Footings are being poured Sept. 10 at the Artesian of Ojai site, a new 64-unit assisted living, memory-support community under construction at 203 E. El Roblar Drive in Meiners Oaks. More than 400 cubic yards of concrete are being used in the footings of the five buildings that will be built on the site, according to contractor Mark Judson of Judson Builders, Inc. The facility, which is expected to open in May, will be home to four 16-unit buildings clustered around common living, dining and activity areas. In addition, the site will include an administration building and wellness center. Outside, the facility will feature sustainably-landscaped gardens, a pool, barbecue area and walking paths.
