In recent years, the Nordhoff High School (NHS) football program has had Santa Paula High School’s (SPHS) number. The neighboring schools have established a rivalry on the gridiron over the years, but with Nordhoff dominating the last several contests, the Rangers’ attention has turned to schools like Bishop Diego.
After the Oct. 28 contest, where the Cardinals handed NHS a 42-13 loss, the local rivalry is back on.
Santa Paula came into the game with a 4-4 record and were licking their wounds after a 74-14 beat down at the hands of Grace Brethren. The Cardinals managed to right the ship against the Rangers.
