Grange classes might get your goat or at least help you keep it

The Ojai Valley Grange’s Spring Skill Series is slated to get under way Sunday, and the lineup of classes should offer a bit of something for everyone, according to organizer Grace Molloy.

“We usually have a good blend of teachers with particular expertise,” said Molloy, herself a granger, environmental educator and proprietor of the Ojai-based Poco Farm. “They’re a unique group, and the community these days is hungry for the kind of information they have to offer.”

Kids Bowmaking figures as one of the more popular draws on the Sunday ticket, she said. Taught by outdoors experts Casey Murphy and Ailea Hawken, the class will show youngsters how to fashion, decorate and safely shoot their own bows and arrows.
