American Songbook Today, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will present its fifth monthly open mic event on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 6:15 to 8:15 p.m., at The Gables of Ojai, 710 N. Montgomery St.
There is a $5 cover charge at the door and the theme for February is “Songs of the Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.”
Founder of American Songbook Today, Michael Estwanik, will host the songfest and there will be some singalongs as well.  Smitty West will be accompanying the singers, but guests are also welcome to accompany themselves on guitar, piano, tuba, triangle, etc. Youth are more than welcome.
If you are stymied as for songs to sing, simply Google “Summer songs.” “Songs of Autumn,” etc., then go to, print out your music in your key and join the party. Estwanik likes to remind people: “This is not a contest nor an audition. This is a party.” For more information, visit This email address is being protected from spambots.
