School district special meeting – April 26

Tuesday, April 26 the Ojai Unified School District Board of Trustees has scheduled a Special Meeting to consider a student expulsion and to vote in a run-off election for a representative for the California School Board Association’s Delegate Assembly.

The details of the expulsion will be disclosed in closed session as required by state laws due to privacy for the student, but the final vote tally and decision of the Board is required to be reported out publicly in open session.

The election taking place is the result of a tie-vote.

The meeting also includes public comment during open session. For submitting written comments the district requests that the public submit comments via an online form before 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Those comments that meet that deadline will be included in the information provided to the Board and public, however state law mandates that any written comment or documents submitted to an elected body during a public meeting shall be entered into the public record for that meeting and constitute a public record.

All OUSD Board meeting agendas are online at:

The meeting will take place in person at 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Board Hearing Room, Ojai Unified School District headquarters, 414 E. Ojai Avenue.

The meeting will also be streamed on OUSD’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
