Thacher School board acknowledges ‘past wrongs,’ lists ‘corrective actions’

Dan Yih, chair of The Thacher School Board of Trustees, wrote a letter July 15 about corrective actions the board is taking since the June 16 report outlining sexual abuse and misconduct at the school was released.

A month after The Thacher School in Ojai released a 90-page report outlining allegations of past sexual abuse and misconduct at the school, with some incidents as far back as four decades, the Thacher board chair released a letter July 15 with an attachment of five pages of “corrective actions taken to date,” including the “potential removal” of the names of two former heads of school “from campus, by the end of this month.”

Former Head of School Michael Mulligan was referenced in the report by some of the interviewed former students who said that, as head of school, he could have exercised more authority to root out alleged abusers.
