BREAKING NEWS: County opens vaccine site at Nordhoff High School Feb. 20; opens more appointments

Ojai Unified School District staff help prepare Nordhoff High School gymnasium to be used as a county COVID-19 vaccination center, opening Saturday, Feb. 20.

 

COVID-19 vaccinations will be provided by the Ventura County government at Nordhoff High School, 1401 Maricopa Highway, Ojai, on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Health care workers and those 65 and olders were eligible to sign up for the vaccinations at Nordhoff High on Thursday, Feb. 18. All the appointments were booked by the end of the day. More appointments become available each Monday for registration online at 7:30 a.m. at www.venturacountyrecovers.org/vaccine-information/portal/ or by calling or, for those with limited internet access, by calling 805-477-7161.

This is for the Modern vaccine and appointments are available to the entire county.

The Nordhoff High School vaccine site will be open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for the next six weeks, according to Terri Wolfe, executive director of Help of Ojai.

She said those who need help signing up for a vaccine should call Help of Ojai at 805-646-5122. 

Wolfe also stated in an email that, from time to time, Help of Ojai is notified about extra shots available. Therefore, those who do not get an appointment and  want to be on Help of Ojai’s "Show Up Immediately" email list, should email This email address is being protected from spambots. Ventura County Public Health advises Ventura County residents to sign up on its website to be notified when appointments for vaccines open up again.
