3 teens hurt in Hwy. 33 crash at Stanley Avenue

A 16-year-old Ventura driver crashed into a tree at Highway 33 and Stanley Avenue before 12:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, resulting in moderate injuries to the driver and major injuries to the two teenage passengers.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the teen, driving a 2007 Volkswagen Golf, failed to negotiate the exit on Highway 33 at the Stanley Avenue offramp, traveled across Stanley Avenue and into a tree.

The  driver was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the CHP. One passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was wearing a seatbelt and it was not reported whether the 15-year-old girl was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center and the passengers were taken by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center.

Anyone who saw the accident or has related information about it is asked to call Officer Steve Lutzke with the CHP at 805-662-2640.
