OUSD provides free meals to Ojai Valley youth through July 24 at Meiners Oaks School


 7 10 Summer mealsOjai Unified School District is providing free meals to Ojai Valley youth on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Meiners Oaks Elementary School, 400 S. Lomita Ave., Meiners Oaks, through July 24. The meals are for youth, up to age 18, regardless of where they attend school, according to school district officials. The summer meals program will continue through July 24.

All meals are made, assembled and distributed with healthy and social-distancing protocols in place, and are free for all children, even if they do not attend OUSD schools. “We are here to support our community and ensure their needs are met in as many ways as we can,” said OUSD Superintendent Tiffany Morse.


Meiners Oaks Elementary School also hosts a diaper bank to distribute free diapers, provided by the nonprofit organization, Secure Beginnings, during the food distribution service. The next Diaper Bank distribution is Wednesday, July 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Meiners Oaks School. 

Since Ojai school campuses closed in mid-March, Ojai Unified School District Nutrition Services and employees have served more than 31,000 meals to local children and families.
