Measure C on the March 3 ballot would increase the city’s transient occupancy tax 5%. This tax would apply to those staying at hotels, motels or inns within Ojai city limits and would add approximately $1.5 million a year to the city’s budget for capital improvements. Among these improvements are wildfire prevention and street maintenance. The measure requires two-thirds’ voter approval to pass.
