During his time as a Ranger, Nordhoff High School (NHS) alumnus Cooper Garcia set a goal of playing Division I football. After playing at Ventura College, where he was an All-American, Garcia transferred to the University of Massachusetts (UMass) to play for the Minutemen. In his first action for UMass, the former NHS star helped his team to 63-15 victory over Duquesne University. Garcia converted on all four extra points he attempted and also had two touchbacks on kickoffs. Next up for Garcia and the Minutemen will be a huge test against powerhouse Boston College. That game will take place Sept. 1 and will be televised on the ACC Network.
