The Rotary Club of Ojai West Student of the Month award for April was given April 24 to Noahm Byle (middle), a senior at Nordhoff High School (NHS). Byle was nominated for the award by Bill Wagner, director of music at NHS. Wagner described Byle as a young man of the highest character; one of those students who comes through his department every few years who raises the quality of the student efforts in the department. Byle is a drummer in jazz band, percussion section leader in the symphonic band, and was captain of the front ensemble for marching band. He was active in choir and the spring musicals, most recently starring as Caldwell B. Cladwell in “Urinetown, The Musical” last month. He also plays piano in his family band, Celtic Nut. Also present at the presentation were his mother, Carly Byle (right) and father, Eilam Byle. He plans to continue his education in junior college and then transfer to a four-year college. His interests are the sciences and music.
