about the "injustice and insanity" of our national
economic policies and practices. Her letters are always clear,
calm and fact-filled.

to have and espouse their personal opinions without infringing
on the dignity or rights of another.
· A reader sends a huge "Red, White and Blue"
thumbs-up to the family on Rice Road, who is displaying the giant
"Old Glory" on the roof of their home! They know how
to show support for our country and our fine men and women fighting
for freedom - like ours - in Iraq!
· A reader sends a thumbs-up to all our service men and
women who are risking their necks to make sure a Sept. 11th never
happens again. We love you and hope you come home safe. The people
of Iraq will love you too!

District Board of Education for advocating and supporting the
arts as integral parts of the cirriculum.
· A reader sends a thumbs-up to everyone who participated
in the global candlelight vigil.

sends a double thumbs-down to the young mother who left her toddler
inside a parked car on Blanche Street, motor running, windows
rolled up, for approximately five minutes. Shame on her for putting
the baby at risk like that. Police responded, but she drove off
before they arrived.
· A reader sends a thumbs-down to all the demonstrators
demonstrating against the United States. Why aren't you demonstrating
against Saddam Hussein? He's the killing innocent people and
using unlawful weapons on his own people!
· A reader sends a thumbs-down to the "fourth Reich's"
threats to educational funding - remember, regime change begins
at home!
· A reader sends a thumbs-down to planting oak trees in
rows, they are gregarious and like to grow in groves.
