Ojai city attorney resigns position

Ojai City Attorney Joseph Fletcher has announced his intention to resign upon appointment of a successor, according to a press release from the city.
Fletcher, who has served as contract city attorney since 2011, has been appointed chief counsel of the Alameda County Employees’ Retirement Association, and will be relocating to the Bay Area. Fletcher said “It has been an honor to serve the Ojai City Council and I will miss being part of the Ojai Community. However, my new role is a very special opportunity that I cannot pass up.”
The release said Fletcher and Assistant City Attorney Scott Howard will continue to provide full service to the city until the City Council fills the position. The City Council will discuss its options for filling the vacancy in January.
