The two teams of Peggy Brown and Debbie Schweitzer and Carole Borland and Candy Randopolous tied for the win at the Front Nine member-guest tournament at Soule Park recently. The event capped the eighth and final round of the fall session where members ask a guest to play in their team two-ball scramble.
Joan Logan and Bernie Austin came in second place. Carole Borland hit her 6-iron on the 10th hole and landed her ball 4 inches from the hole to win closest-to-the-pin honors on the day. For longest drive, Bernie Austin hit her drive on the 17th hole 170 yards to win tier two, while Jenny Davis nailed hers 227 yards to win it for the tier one. The three teams of Cookie Brewer and Lorraine Lurring, Mitnee Duque and Andy Fletcher, and Shirley McClung and Linda Nugent tied for fewest putts with 12.
The Front Nine begins a new eight-week session in January. Interested golfers should call Duque at 646-6788, or 798-0525.
