The Nordhoff Rangers hit the low point of their season tonight when they lost to the San Marcos Royals, 17-6. The Rangers jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead on two first quarter field goals by Cooper Garcia, but they also missed several opportunities to extend their lead. San Marcos would close the gap to 6-3 late in the first half.
The second half was all San Marcos thanks to their power running game and Nordhoff's inability to get anything going on offense. The Rangers put the ball in the air 33 times but never really established an identity on offense and rarely threatened to score against the San Marcos defense. With the loss, the Rangers drop to 3-3 on the season and they face a very difficult test next week in Sierra Canyon.
