Tonight the Nordhoff Rangers and North Torrance Saxons engaged in a heart-stopping showdown that went right down to the wire before the Rangers escaped with a 13-7 victory. With the win, the Rangers improve to 3-1 on the season.
NHS got on the board first when quarterback Austin Santino threw a perfect ball to senior Nick Sterling for a 57-yard touchdown. Senior kicker Cooper Garcia would add two field goals to cap the scoring for the Rangers.
The story of the night for the Rangers was the play of their defense, which held the athletic Saxons to just seven points. Sterling had an interception and Rem Martin recovered a key second half fumble for the Rangers.
