More than 6,000 swimmers competed in the seven-day FINA World Masters Championships held earlier this month. On the first day of competition, local swimmer Wenke Seider swam to a first place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:15.95. On the second day of the meet, Seider swam to a first place win and a new United States Masters Swimming (USMS) record in the 50-meter butterfly, posting a time of 29.04.
