Rangers remain winless in 2015

By Mike Miller

The Nordhoff Rangers remained winless in 2015 after losing 52-21 to the Paso Robles Bearcats Friday night in Paso. NHS fell behind 7-0 early in the game but then managed to tie the game when Scott Barron intercepted a pass and returned it 65-yards for a touchdown.

With the game tied 7-7, the Rangers took the lead when sophomore quarterback Parker Johnsen connected with senior Daniel Williams for a 15-yard touchdown pass. The extra point conversion would fail but Nordhoff took a 13-7 lead into the second quarter.

From there on the game belonged to Paso as they scored 45 unanswered points and forced a running clock late in the third quarter. NHS did score once more when Williams connected with Noah Osborn for a 71-yard score to cap the scoring on the night.

With the loss, NHS drops to 0-5 on the season and they will host the San Marcos Royals (1-4) next Friday night. See Wednesday’s Ojai Valley News for more information on Nordhoff’s performance.

Facing a 0-5 start, the Nordhoff Rangers football team needs some positive momentum as they travel north to take on the Paso Robles Bearcats Friday night. Defeating Paso Robles is likely not in the cards for the Rangers, but a strong, motivated performance could go a long way for NHS as they enter the second half of their season.
According to NHS head coach Erik Monson, the Rangers will have most of their players
