The Nordhoff boys’ volleyball team played its best game of the year last week in a win over Carpinteria. The junior varsity squad won in three (25-11, 25-23 and 15-3), and the varsity team also made quick work of the Warriors (25-21, 25-9 and 25-21). The Rangers were led by Chris Colburn (11 kills and two blocks), Tiarnan Nelson (10 kills and four aces) and Rowan Gaddis (eight kills and two aces).
Head coach Travis Watkins said, “It’s been an incredible and fun season coaching such a large and dedicated group of boys … many play multiple sports. Most of varsity has now been playing three or four seasons with me, and it’s going to be sad seeing them leave after this year."
The Ranger spikers are also doing well in the classroom, added Watkins. "They have helped change the sport at Nordhoff," he said.
