The Ventura County Watershed Protection District (VCWPD) is now accepting comments on a proposed project designed to protect Casitas Springs and Highway 33 from future floods.
The Fresno Canyon Flood Mitigation Project is slated to break ground in spring 2015, and should divert storm water runoff through a 12-foot diameter pipe and into the Ventura River, avoiding the small community at the entrance to the Ojai Valley.
