Ojai residents might not have been keen on passing a parcel tax to help supplement the dwindling Ojai Unified School District budget, but Elisa Oliver thinks she's found a different way to help the schools through a grassroots effort.
"The idea for 100 for Ojai Schools started back when the property tax levy failed," said Oliver. "I was so frustrated. It only failed by a couple hundred votes. So many people wanted to help our schools, so I started thinking, 'Wouldn't it be cool to have a new way to do that?'"
