County Opens New Trail Bridge

Ojai Valley Trail users won't have to worry about rising creek waters during storm season stopping them in their tracks. The County of Ventura completed construction on a new, 480-foot bridge that spans San Antonio Creek at its convergence with the Ventura River near Casitas Springs. The new design is an upgrade from the trail's previous concrete crossing. The county utilized steel in the construction of the $1.8-million bridge, and officials state the new span will withstand a 100-year flood. It will also allow passage of the steelhead trout,
