Eight Ojai Valley students have come away with honors in the 2017 Ventura County Science Fair — including four who earned first-place awards.
Projects submitted by young thinkers from The Thacher School and Ojai Valley School (OVS) were among the winners announced at a March 27 awards ceremony held in the VCOE Conference and Educational Services Center in Camarillo.
Three of the first-place winners are middle-school students at OVS. Caleb Carver won top honors in the Botany Division for his “Fish Factor” entry, while Alex Alvarez's “Stop Hoof Harrassment” and Hannah Little's “Betting Bonanza” tied for first place in the Product Science (Biological) Division.
