Several Ojai Valley schools earning recognition for being ‘green’

No fewer than three Ojai Valley schools have garnered high praise from educators at the state and federal levels this year. Meiners Oaks Elementary School and the Ojai Valley School (OVS) have earned Green Ribbon School awards from the California Department of Education (CDOE), while The Thacher School has been nominated by CDOE to compete in the U.S. Department of Education's Green Ribbon Schools recognition program.
Began in 2006, the Green Schools programs annual awards go to schools that conserve resources while promoting health and safety on their campuses.
