The city of Ojai scored a victory in an appeal to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors March 7, as the supervisors unanimously voted to grant an appeal from the city that would disallow gravel-hauling trucks from Mosler Rock’s Ojai Quarry to use Highway 33 during Nordhoff High School’s morning rush hour, with some modifications.
City officials asked the supervisors to disallow gravel trucks from traveling in front of the high school from 7 to 8 a.m. The Board of Supervisors moved to disallow gravel trucks from leaving Mosler Rock from 7:10 to 7:35 a.m.
Nordhoff principal Greg Bayless said traffic at Nordhoff is most intense from 7:20 to 7:40 a.m., as the first bell rings at 7:34 a.m.
