Chances are good, as you read this, rain is coming down in the Ojai Valley. A leading wave of precipitation was expected to make its way into the area by late in the day Feb. 16, according to the National Weather Service (NWS), followed by anywhere from 4 to 6.5 inches of precipitation over the weekend and into Monday.
“Ojai could potentially get 6 inches of rain from this storm,” said Bruce Rindahl, hydrologist for the Ventura Watershed Protection District. “We are anticipating some localized flooding and related hillside problems like rockfalls or mud.”
