Jim Bailey, voted Ojai's favorite teacher in the Ojai Valley News Best of the Ojai Valley contest in 2015 and 2016, has founded a radical new enrichment center in Upper Ojai with his wife, Natasha Efross.
Rock Tree Sky is a self-directed learning center for students enrolled in a home-school program. Bailey and Efross have 37 students, though every student does not attend the center each day.
According to Bailey, they average approximately 20 students a day.
“This is not just another progressive school. This is a totally different way” he said.
“There is zero coercion. There is no 'you have to do this,' he added. “Sometimes it blows me away, how radical, and how basic it is.”
