The Ventura County Board of Supervisors received reports Dec. 6 on the recently-approved Adult Use of Medical Marijuana Act (Proposition 64) and a draft framework of medical marijuana regulations for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County.
The supervisors did not approve the framework, but agreed that staff should continue work to develop regulations to allow for safe access to medical marijuana.
The supervisors directed staff to return to them within 120 days with a sole focus on access to medical marijuana.
They agreed to consider recreational marijuana cultivation and retail sales at a later date.
