District looking to reduce Measure J costs

Approximately 25 percent of the Ojai Unified School District's (OUSD) Measure J expenditures to date have gone to Balfour Beatty Construction, LLC, OUSD's construction management firm, according to OUSD documents provided to the Measure J Bond Citizen's Oversight Committee (COC) Dec. 5.
Of the $402,774 spent thus far on school construction and improvement projects, $97,760 of the $35 million bond has gone to Balfour Beatty.
Now OUSD is moving to hire an in-house bond project manager to reduce Balfour Beatty's role, said Assistant Superintendent Andy Cantwell.
