The California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) is looking into a complaint filed against the Ojai First organization. In a Nov. 30 letter addressed to Ojai First member Michael Haley, the FPPC Enforcement Division stated it has initiated an investigation into an alleged violation of campaign disclosure requirements.
At this time, the letter states, no determinations have been made.
"This complaint is being filed on behalf of a complaining party who wishes to remain anonymous,” the complaint states. “It is the complaining party's understanding that Ojai First funded an airplane banner advertisement for a candidate. However, there is no corresponding filing declaring the substantial expense of this advertisement, either by Ojai First or by the candidate who is the subject of the advertisement.”
