Eight Nordhoff High School students will attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C. Jan. 20.
“This trip is really for the students to witness history first-hand,” said Nordhoff government teacher Chris Bohney. “They may see something that offends them or they may see something that strengthens their faith in democracy. Either way they will be affected and that will help shape their role as a citizen in this country.”
The students, all members of Bohney’s Advanced Placement Government and Politics course, have studied the electoral process since the beginning of the school year.
And the 2016 presidential election has been one for the textbooks, said Bohney.
