With an audience of three, the Ojai Unified School District’s (OUSD) School Board unanimously approved a resolution Nov. 15 that declared its Chaparral property “surplus” and stated its intention to lease the property.
The 7.54-acre property at 414 E. Ojai Ave., houses Chaparral High School, A Place to Grow Preschool and the OUSD offices.
The resolution did not include the land used by the Ojai Skate Park.
According to the resolution, an ideal lease agreement would be for a minimum of 50 years. The lease would ideally generate sufficient income to cover relocation costs and provide substantial revenue to the District.
