Six Ojai organizations will receive a total of $60,000 courtesy of The Ojai Women's Fund (OWF). The all-volunteer group announced its first-ever set of grantees Nov. 1.
OWF members, who also are donors, vote for grant applicants in the fields of arts, education, environment, healthcare and social services.
“This dignified, democratic process to select grant recipients empowers members in a way traditional giving lacks: it invests each member in the betterment and success of her own community,” said Maureen Volland of OWF.
