A trio of idle oil wells in Upper Ojai are on the agenda when the Ventura County Board of Supervisors meets Nov. 1. Slated for 1:30 p.m., a de novo hearing will be held to consider granting a modified conditional use permit (C.U.P.) and certification of an environmental impact report authorizing re-activation of the wells.
One mile east of Koenigstein Road’s northern end, the wells are the property of the Santa Paula-based Mirada Petroleum Inc. The Ventura County Planning Commission voted July 28 to deny an appeal by Citizens for Responsible Oil and Gas (CFROG) to stop the project, which also grants access to the three wells by way of Koenigstein Road.
