Two developers have their eyes on the Ojai Unified School District's (OUSD) 414 E. Ojai Ave. property — the current home of Chaparral High School, A Place to Grow Preschool and the OUSD offices. OUSD's 7-11 Committee's recommendation to lease or develop the 414 E. Ojai Ave. property has now come to the forefront.
Ted Moore, owner of E.F. Moore & Company in Ojai, has proposed to convert the property to a mixed use space that would include 50 to 75 “affordable by design” apartments along with office and retail space.
Moore's proposal states that the Skateboard Park is “here to stay.” He proposes making the park a project feature, suggesting an “outdoor quick-serve eating/seating area behind it so diners could watch the kids perform.”
