To some observers, the Casitas Municipal Water District (CMWD) might look like a bad apple right now. Numbers released Oct. 5 by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) show the water provider falling behind in conservation.
But those numbers are misleading, CMWD Water Conservation Manager Ron Merckling said Oct. 6, thanks to the combination of urban and agricultural data from the District. “Our numbers actually look good,” he said. “I'd be willing to put them up against those of any other agency in the state. People here are doing a good job.”
