Meiners Oaks students plant wheat in their school garden that will get increased attention because of new grant funding.

Food for Thought Ojai and Reins of H.O.P.E. (Human Opportunity Partnering with Equines), two Ojai non-profit organizations, have been awarded grants by the Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation. The foundation supports Ventura County organizations that cater to local children.
Food for Thought received a $25,000 grant that will allow the group to run its elementary garden program the way they envisioned it, according to Executive Director Lori Hamor.
“It is a big expansion for us,” she said.
