Summit School will remain open, shipping containers enter the discussion

All five Ojai Unified School District (OUSD) elementary schools will remain open, at least for the time being.

The OUSD School Board voted 4-1 Sept. 20, to keep all District elementary schools open.

School Board Chair Linda Taylor, a 19-year teaching veteran of Nordhoff High School, was the lone vote in opposition.

“The financial reality of the District is we need to close two schools,” she said.
