Free landscape workshops offered

The kids are back in school, summer is winding down and the first day of autumn is only a month away.

It's the time of year many Ojai Valley residents start thinking about changing or otherwise rearranging their gardens, and the Ventura County Public Works Agency (VCPWA) is here to help — with a series of free Watershed Friendly Garden Workshops.

“Fall is planting season in Southern California,” said David Laak, water quality planner and workshop coordinator from the VCPWA's Watershed Protection District, “especially for native species and drought-tolerant plants and shrubs.”
