The Ventura County Board of Supervisors will host a public workshop and discussion of short-term rentals in the unincorporated areas of Ventura County during their regular meeting Tuesday.
There are two hubs of short-term rental activity within the county — the beach communities and the Ojai Valley — according to a staff report prepared for the meeting.
“My first priority is to protect the integrity of residential neighborhoods,” said Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett. “People should have confidence when they buy a house in a residential neighborhood that they will have residents as neighbors on both sides of them. It affects their tranquility, peace of mind and sense of community.”
The debate over short-term rentals in the county mirrors the debate in the city of Ojai.
