Ojai Valley wastewater will be moving a little more smoothly in August. Santa Ana Pump Station No. 1 is undergoing an upgrade that will make it, in some ways, a whole new facility.
“The new station will be a lot quieter than the old one,” said Jeff Palmer, general manager of the Ojai Valley Sanitary District (OVSD). “And there will be better odor control, too. That’s all part of the upgrade.”
But the most significant improvements will be in the overall efficiency of the station, he added, in the form of upgrades including two submersible pumps, a new wet well, a state-of-the-art Caterpillar generator and a fully enclosed building to house the motor control panels.
