The Ojai City Council is expected to give city staff further direction regarding enforcement of its prohibition of unlawful short-term rentals during the Council’s regular meeting Tuesday.
The item was discussed at the two previous two council meetings, but neither meeting had full Council attendance.
City staff, at the Council’s direction, have proposed increasing the maximum fine for operating an unlawful vacation rental from $500 to $1,000.
Staff also is expected to propose a prohibition on advertising an unlawful rental.
