The $35 million for school repairs raised by 2014's Measure J are starting to be put to use.
Among the projects to be completed this summer is a campus painting program, a special education classroom upgrade at Nordhoff High School and lead and asbestos testing at A Place to Grow Preschool.
“They're not the most exciting projects for people to see, but they're absolutely necessary,” said Ojai Unified School District (OUSD) assistant superintendent Andy Cantwell during the School Board's regular meeting June 28. “Each of these absolutely need to be done.”
