During the 2015-2016 school year, 75 percent of the fruits and vegetables served to Ojai Unified School District (OUSD) students came from farms within 150 miles of the district. During the previous school year, that number was 57 percent.
The increase is due to the work of the Ventura County Farm to School Collaborative. The Collaborative consists of six school districts: OUSD, Ventura Unified School District, Oxnard School District, Rio School District, Conejo Valley Unified School District and the Hueneme Elementary School District.
