Tim Dewar, Ojai Valley News publisher
Newspapers across the country have had to adapt to the changing ways readers get their news. Those who have failed to do so have shut their doors.
Newspaper subscriptions across the country have declined approximately 7 percent in the past year. We are fortunate in that the Ojai Valley News subscription numbers do not approach the national average.
However, significant increases in printing and delivery costs have made it increasingly clear that changes need to be made if this community’s hometown newspaper is going to survive into its 126th year.
After a great deal of thought, research and soul searching about how we can best serve the community going forward, I have decided that beginning in the final week of July, we will no longer print a Wednesday edition of the Ojai Valley News.
