The city has sent 46 cease-and-desist letters to property owners suspected of operating illegal short-term rentals, according to Ojai City Manager Steve McClary.
McClary reported Tuesday on the city's efforts to enforce a ban on short-term rentals, noting that 58 such units have been identified. Nine cease-and-desist letters have yet to be sent.
The staff report, prepared by City Attorney Matthew Summers and McClary, also suggested the city could engage in sting operations to catch municipal code violators.
