The Ojai Music Festival (OMF) kicks off its 70th season Thursday, and musicians have been rehearsing daily at the Libbey Bowl. Soprano Julia Bullock was onstage there Monday, backed up by the International Contemporary Ensemble, better known as ICE, fine-tuning the festival's production of Kaija Saariaho's opera, “La Passion de Simone,” scheduled for performance Thursday at 8 p.m.
“This will be the U.S. premiere of the chamber version of 'La Passion,'” said Gina Guiterrez, OMF chief operating officer. “So it's going to be very special.”
