It’s official: SOAR will grace Ventura County ballots once again.
SOAR — “Save Open Space and Agricultural Resources” — first became county law after a 1998 ballot measure was approved by voters. The current SOAR initiative, which expires in 2020, gives voters the right to decide if certain classifications of county land can be rezoned for development. The renewed SOAR would extend those voter rights until 2050.
SOAR supporters turned in petition signatures to the Ventura County Clerk’s Office in late March.
